I was born and educated in England and then emigrated to Canada in 1976. I have a B.Sc. degree in Physics, with Electrical Engineering and Math subsidiaries, from Birmingham University, England. As a teenager I learnt 5 languages - English, French, Latin, German, and spoken Italian.
I started out my working life as an assembler language computer programmer, way back in the days of the dinosaurs and the old mainframes. I have raised two children, and became a realtor for 12 years so that I could finish bringing up my children without babysitters. However, all my life I had wanted to have a farm, and the day my youngest child left school, I stopped selling real estate and moved onto an acreage.
I began tutoring Math while I had my farm. Sadly, I had to give up my farm after a few years when I became allergic to my chickens.
I am now living with my daughter in Deep Cove, North Saanich, while I have a house built on Pender Island. I am looking forward to the change in lifestyle which a move to the Gulf Islands will bring, hopefully some time next year.
